Here’s what you should know about this recent hiring trends report

Robert Half recently released its 2025 Salary Guide and Hiring Trends report. Use this info to make smarter career decisions this year 👇️

What will hiring and job-seeking look like this year?

You’re not the only one disappointed in job salaries. 48% of managers anticipate it will be hard to meet candidates’ compensation expectations (but that doesn’t mean you need to lower your standards!). Keep this in mind if you’re currently job searching.

Even though companies might fall short of compensation expectations, they are using these strategies to sweeten the pot for in-demand candidates:

  • Offering hybrid work (41%)

  • Offering flexible schedules (41%)

  • Increasing starting salaries (38%)

  • Adding new perks or benefits (35%)

  • Offering signing bonuses (30%)

  • Offering remote work (30%)

How are managers filling skills gaps?

40% of managers say they will seek out help from contract professionals to fill in gaps on their team. 39% say they will use service providers/agencies/firms for the same reason.

What about salary expectations?

Soooo, you know how a lot of companies have been pushing return-to-work mandates? Well, that might come with some wiggle room for new hires – but with a catch.

The report found that companies are open to remote and hybrid work requests…for candidates who take a lower salary.

Finally, if you’re on the hunt for a new role in 2025, bookmark this salary search tool for a better idea of what salary to expect.

This AI friend wants to read your mind

Have you heard of AI wearables? They are what they sound like – tech you wear (i.e. around your neck, on your face, on your wrist) that runs on AI.

And what do they do? They listen.

All the time.

A new wearable called Omi takes it a step further, though. Its creator, Nik Shevchenko, wants to build a device that understands your thoughts – whether you’re talking to it or not. Oh yeah, and you would wear it on your face. 🙃

Omi is just another device in a longer line of AI wearables for the everyday consumer. They can take notes, give you action items, or even talk to you like you’re BFFs.

What do you think? Are gadgets like Omi cool or creepy? Maybe a little bit of both?

🫖 What's the tea?

  • Delta is upgrading to 4k screens for your in-flight entertainment. IDK about you but I would prefer more legroom and better snacks.

  • Apple users were auto-opted into Enhanced Visual Search in Photos. Here’s what that means and how to opt-out.

  • TikTok goes to Washington! The fate of everyone’s favorite brain rot app is in the hands of the Supreme Court this month.

See you next week! 👋
